Ellijay is home to The Georgia Apple Festival every year in October. There are several apples houses in Ellijay that are open year round. Deep South Farm is located just about a mile from the end of ‘Apple Alley’ where a large portion of Gilmer County’s apple houses are!

The Great Outdoors!

Gilmer County is centrally located in the middle of North Georgia. We are home to the Southern Terminus of the Appalachian Trail. Ellijay is also a short drive to Amicalola Falls, the tallest waterfall in Georgia. Fort Mountain State park is close by. Lots of kayaking and river tubing on the Cartecay River. If the weather turns out to be not so great for your whole stay, no worries. Go Axe Throwing! Who knew that was thing?! Not me! But such a good time. Sounds a little too daring? Spend some time bowling, get a pedicure or massage at a local salon. Spend some time shopping in the Downtown Ellijay shops. There’s even a gun range or two for those who come prepared.
